After installing Freshmeat.net, linux.google.com, and used them for a couple of
days, have they been replaced with eBay, Yahoo, and Amazon.com shopping search
engines.

I have not added these or removed the ones I installed.

Looking in my history tells that I have not been at ebay, but yahoo and amazon.

eBay, Yahoo, and Amazon are part of the default set of search plugins that comes
with Firefox.  The fact that they appeared does not indicate a security hole.

I don't know why you lost your other search plugins.

Deafult install includes these engines. Without more information, this bug isn't
useful.
