Internet Explorer doesn't display this seperate error dialog when it can't
connect. It is really sometimes hard to work with it if your specially focusing
on something else. It should be changed, another way should be found to display
the errors or misattempts at trying to connect.

You can set the hidden pref browser.xul.error_pages.enabled to true to enable
error pages instead of separate dialogs. They still have some bugs and aren't
enabled by default because of them.
Bug 28586 is about resolving the remaining issues so it could be enabled by default.
