On linux, my window manager (sawmill) allows me to Alt-click in a window to raise it. If I do this while the cursor is in an edit field, I get stuck in a mode where every time I press the spacebar, the window scrolls down, and the space also gets sent to the text field I'm in. I'm cc'ing hyatt and saari because it seems focus-related...

So does Alt clicking the background window bring it to front or not?
yes, it does.. but that's a feature of my window manager. the problem is that when I do this, the window gets stuck in this awefuls state
I'm starting to think we should just disable the ALT menu activation on Unix completely, along with the menu shortcut key feature.

Hyatt fixed a bunch of keyboard navigation of menus bugs, and it appears he fixed this too, because I cannot repro it. Marking fixed.
