The left pane of Firefox's two-pane Bookmarks Manager shows your bookmark
folders. It is impossible, however, to drag-and-drop one of these folders to
another spot in the left pane, for example to move it inside of another folder
or change the order of the folders. This works fine in the right pane, so it
seems natural to expect it to work the same way on the left.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Bookmarks->Manage Bookmarks
2. Try to drag-and-drop a folder in the left pane to a different position

Actual Results:  
Nothing happens.

Expected Results:  
Move the folder just as you can in the right pane.

Shouldn't this apply to all platforms?  Behavior is the same on OS X.

Sounds like a nice enhancement, though I'm not sure if it fits UI conventions.
Can you think of a left pane tree where objects can be reordered using drag and
drop?

Mail.app in OS X allows you to reorder mailboxes in this manner.  Eudora Light
for Windows used to as well.

The current UI confused me. 
1)I figured it was a bug until I read this about left and right pane.
2)Drag and drop in right pane requires that UNSORTED be checked, and fails silently otherwise.
3)Once I understood those requirements,I was able to arrange my bookmarks satisfactorily, although not without some actions I perceived as workarounds.

Same with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20090202 Shiretoko/3.1b3pre Ubiquity/0.1.5 ID:20090202020439. No problem seen so far for a couple of months.
