Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a4) Gecko/20040908 Camino/0.8+

The web site http://kilauea.tikimac.com/ creates a frame to display its contents
from http://homepage.mac.com/tikimac.

When the hits the splash screen (assuming you get one of the non-animated ones),
it will automatically load the main page within the frame without the location
bar changing its address (as it should).

However, when a user clicks a link, the location bar immediately changes to the
page that comes up next, even though the frame is still present and the content
is, in fact, loading inside the frame.

This behavior is not correct. The location bar URL should not be changing
whether a page within a frame is brought up by a meta-refresh OR the click of a
link.

The behavior is correct in FireFox 1.0PR, Mozilla 1.6, and Internet Exploder 5.2
for Mac.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://kilauea.tikimac.com/
2. If you get the animated splash, reload until you get a static one (a single
image on a colored background)
3. Wait for Meta-refresh
4. Note URL in location bar has not changed
5. Repeat steps 1 and 2
6. Now, either CLICK on the image to bypass the meta-refresh or wait for the
meta-refresh and then click on any link (menus at the top, for example)
7. Note location bar change
8. View source to verify you are still within a frame

Actual Results:
Location bar has changed when link was clicked, even though source shows we're
still within the frame.

Expected Results:
the location bar URL should not have changed when the link was clicked.
I couldn't reproduce as described. I *always* got an animated intro.
So I clicked through to enter the site and the url changed to
http://homepage.mac.com/tikimac/tm/home/

However, when I clicked the back button, the url shown was
http://homepage.mac.com/tikimac/tm/indextransform.html

When I showed the page source after all of that, it was for the original
http://kilauea.tikimac.com/

Using Camino 2004101508 and Mac OS X 10.3.5
Mike,

Thanks for looking. Your steps work fine too! :) Now we just need to get it
confirmed! :) :)
Mac OS X 10.3.5, Camino 2004101408 (v0.8+)

Just tried it, reproduced easily and comfirm the URL changes when it should not.
Confirmed using 2004101408 (v0.8+) NB on 10.3.5.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
I can confirm this as well (NB 2004101208). This bug causes some other _very_
annoying behaviour: When you bookmark this page, not the URL shown is bookmarked
but the one from the frameset. Besides that when you switch to a different tab
and back again, the location URL switches to the frameset, too.
