RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 239965

People

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040930
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040930

when clicking on an URL in the mail content pane currently downloads the
document to the temporary folder, then launches that document in the browser.
this behavior is ok for attachments, but broken for links inside the text of the
mail (in that case, you want to launch the browser window with the link itself)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. click on a http (or anything else) link inside a mail piece
2. browser opens
3. see 'file:///tmp/blah' in the location bar, instead of the URL...
the document hence has no picture, no css, no nothing, and is unusable

Expected Results:
the url is opened in the browser, not a document cached in the temp folder
Appears to be a dupe of bug 239965; altho that's listed as a Windows bug, my
understanding is there is no "default browser" in Linux except via certain Gnome
extensions.
No response from reporter, duping.
Note that aviary builds since about 0.7 are supposed to have this fixed; the
dupe is still open waiting for a fix on the trunk.
