Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10

The first time that I click to expand certain bookmark folders using either the
Toolbar folder or the Bookmark's menu, the browser hangs for 10-20 seconds, with
the menu item showing a "clicked" appearance. Several seconds later, the
correct menu appears.

Once this has happened, subsequent expansions of the same menu occur at regular
speed, although the first revisit after a longer duration (probably using other
applications) can show the same symptoms.

Also, clicking soon on certain other submenus can show the same symptoms.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open new browser
2. Click on "Sidebars" toolbar or Bookmarks menu entry

Actual Results:
All browser instances hang until the menu appears several seconds later. The
windows task manager does not report a significant increase in

Expected Results:
Immediately sown droplist

Did not notice this behavior until recently, with both a FF 1.0 upgarde and
Windows SP 2 upgrade.
Turns out this bug occurs on URLs of the form
file://///machine/
where the machine is not accessible.
