I can't reproduce this symptom in TB 0.8. Please save a message that exhibits the problem as a .EML file and attach it to this bug, using the Create New Attachment link above.

Actually, to be more specific, this is something induced by the format of MS Outlook HTML emails. In the plain text part of the email, they leave the smileys as they are, while in the HTML part they replace it with a Wingdings character: --text-- Nice work and thanks for the help along the way :-) --HTML-- <p class=3DMsoNormal><font size=3D2 color=3Dnavy face=3DArial><span style=3D'font-size: 10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:navy'>Nice work and thanks for the help along the way </span></font><font size=3D2 color=3Dnavy face=3DWingdings><span style=3D'font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Wingdings;color:navy'>J</span></font></p> But still, I'd assume this should be displayed properly, as the Wingdings "J" character, instead of Arial "J" (or whatever that is).

Wingding and similar fonts are not supported in Mozilla, and per the duplicate and these other bugs, it seems unlikely they're going to be: bug 193404, bug 232819, bug 236854 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 31538 ***
