The problem here is that the usual feed item is constructed as <iframe href="..."> Alternate content </iframe> but the alternate content is not shown in the conversion to plain text. This is a core issue -- if I load an HTML document containing an <iframe> with alternate content into Firefox, and save the page "as text", there is no record of the <iframe> in the text output. I don't know enough about the way feeds are converted to items to understand why some are created in <iframe>s and others just load text into the body.
