When printing received e-mails a lot of unwanted information is also printed
source, path etc. This information is not shown on the VDU 
I have found no way of preventing this.

Doesn't IE print the same amount of info?

In case you want to get rid of it:
Press FILE - PRINT PREVIEW
On that window click PAGE SETUP and under the Margins/Headers&footers path you
can select the info to be printed/omitted.

Also note that here you can zoom the print, for instance to make it fit a
certain number of pages.

In the browser, go to the address
   about:config
and search for strings with "print" in it. Here you can set the defaults.
