User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 When saving the web page with images, everything seemed fine. I then loaded the saved page, and some characters where corrupted. Not all, only some text though. Have a look under the paragraph titled "ECO : Evaluate OCL in Code". I tried the same thing with Opera and IE, and they both saved the file fine, and it views fine with FireFox. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to website http://blogs.borland.com/MalcolmGroves/ 2. Click File->"Save Page As.." 3. enter filename 4. Select save as filetype: "Web Page, complete" 5. Click SAVE 6. Reload the saved file with FireFox as see corrupted charaters in the text. Actual Results: some text is corrupted Expected Results: show the same characters as it was when I viewed the website. there was no problem on the website page.

Can you attach a screen capture ? I can't reproduce with Mozilla. You don't need any special software to do a screen capture. Just press ALT-PRINT SCREEN, and paste inside Paint. Then save in a file, and attach the file to this bug.

I only see one corrupt character just under the headline "ECO : Variables Part 1" I noticed that the online file has a character encoding of UTF-8, but the saved file is viewed with a character encoding of ISO-8859-1. This could cause the problem here, I guess. See also bug 259246.

OK, now I understand. My system is set to use UTF-8 as a default, so when I reread the page I see it correctly. My fault for having a non-standard configuration, but such a large page was very hard to investigate ... This is bug 259246 if the description for bug 259246 is incomplete.
