periodically, my bookmarks randomly get erased and i am left with only the
bookmarks i have imported from internet explorer and the default ones like
"Firefox Help, Firefox Support, etc.".  and my homepage changes from my preset
www.msn.ca to the ImageZoom homepage that is displayed for the first time after
the ImageZoom extension is installed, even though it was properly installed a
few weeks ago, and i saw the page a few weeks ago when it was actually
installed.  it seems like firefox keeps reverting to a firefox profile from
three months ago.  this is the second time it has hapenned to me.

can't produce problem, it just happens randomly and frustrates you

kept my bookmarks and not have destroyed them

i was running the newest mozilla firefox at the time

disable/remove the imagezoom extension and see if the problem reoccurs

yeah, this happened to me too. except my homepage became mozilla (instead of
blank). is there any way to recover all the bookmarks i lost?  is there a fix? 
i wasnt sure what the "create a new attatchment" was.  i dont know how to
reproduce the problem.  it just happened.

Confirmed. This happens on my father's computer from time to time. It happened
when I upgraded Firefox from 1.0PR to 1.0, and again last night after an
automatic Windows Update ran. We're getting multiple profiles in his %AppData%
directory, all with different naming schemes.

This is definitely not a bookmark-specific bug, but there doesn't appear to be a
'profile' component.

I experienced this problem with old nightlies from around the beginning of
January 2005, but I have yet to see it with any since maybe the beginning of
February 2005.  If noone else is seeing it in recent nightlies, it may have been
fixed by accident when some obscure check-in took place.  If nobody is seeing
this bug anymore in recent nightlies, I think it should be set to resolved as
WORKSFORME.

I had a probleme with firefox: I couldn't start it without a new profiles. I
create a new one and now i have lost all my bookmarks and evrything. And I can
not find my old profile.

P.S. I speak french but understand english...

We no longer open the profile manager on a hung firefox process, such that it
will not create new profiles unless a knowledgable user specifies a command-line
flag.
