The primary reason for this enhancement is that you might be copying and pasting a URL from a text document or other window that splits it across several lines, which causes you to have to paste it in several pieces. You already can do it, by changing a preference. use about:config to set following pref: editor.singleLine.pasteNewlines integer 3 see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50935#c5
