User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040618 Build Identifier: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/0.10.1 When installing firefox, I chose to install to my home directory in order to overwrite the previous installation in /home/user/firefox. It detected the previously installed version, and asked if I'd like to delete it. After clicking delete, it proceeded to delete the entire contents of my home directory. Is this something that should have happened? Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

Sarah, can you check this out? Seems really bad if it can be confirmed.

The bug as described in comment 0 isn't bug 234479. I'd suspect you told the previous and new install to install to /home/user, such that firefox-bin existed in /home/user. If you do that, you'll hit exactly what you described with firefox. The suite installer won't let you install to a directory like /home/user (bug 234741).
