-Focus the link in the testcase.
-Then focus the surrounding black bordered div

Result, the width of the red bordered div (width:50%) gets cutted in half.

But it could be that by minimalising the testcase, I morphed the problem there.

This looks a bit similar to bug 264866, marking dependant.

It only happens in recent nightly (1.8a) builds, not in 1.7 builds.

Hmm, the steps two reproduce seems now exactly the opposite:
-Focus the surrounding black bordered div
-Then focus the link in the testcase.
