In Tools\Options\Privacy - Clear All; clicking on "Clear All Information" will
hang up Firefox ("not responding"),using Win 98SE. Running Firefox on
a different computer (using Win XP) does not have this problem.

3.If you look in the Firefox cache folder, is the machine actually working on deleting the files? It may be a slow process... I don't have Win98 to reproduce your problem.

Did you try this on clean profile (run with firefox -p to get dialogue to create new one)? If it works on one win98 and fails on another, it is likely to be profile problem.
