User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1

Minor issue; found this while trying to characterize a different download issue.
When right clicking on the file "ietf-60" which (at least right now) has 0
bytes, the downloader goes thru the usual prompting of where to save the file, etc.

However, when the downloader says completed, the file doesn't exist. I would
expect there be a 0 bytes file in the destination folder, yet there is none.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to ftp://ftp.is.co.za/rfc/
2. right click on zero size file "ietf-60", and choose save link as...
3. pick a dest folder, etc.
4. once complete, check dest folder to see if file is there.

Actual Results:
The file was not there.

Expected Results:
Created a zero size file
Same with Mozilla 1.8a5 on WinNT4.

This could well be a webbrowserpersist issue...
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

Got the automated comment, so I went back to retest with Firefox 1.0.7.

The problem still exists. This time, I put a zero size .txt file on my personal
webpage, navigated to it, selected Save Link As..., the download window came up,
and it quickly said "Done".

I verified that the file did not exist where I saved it. I also selected "Open"
from the download window, and it said:

"zerosize.txt does not exist. It may have been renamed, moved, or deleted since
it was downloaded."
Dave: Can you please test with Firefox 1.5 beta 1? Firefox 1.0.7 is based on a
branch of the Mozilla source code that is over a year old :)

As requested, I downloaded and installed Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 and retested.

The problem still exists. The steps to reproduce the issue are the same as with
Firefox 1.0.7 and the behavior is the same.
