User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10

The context menu that now appears when right-clicking in the side bar contains
far more options than expected.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load URL above (or any url) in the sidebar
2. right-click on any background part of the sidebar (not a link or other more
specific context)

3. Choose View Source

4. Choose Copy Link Location (there is no link)
5. Paste link location
4. Paste image location

Actual Results:
2: Displayed a long list of context items (a longer list than clicking in the
main content pane), see below

3: Shows source for main panel page
5: Pastes "www."

Expected Results:
2: Displayed no menu, or a menu showing only relevant choices
3: If option exists, should show source for sidebar content
5: If option exists, should paste URL of sidebar content

Note - the same behavior does not occur when loading
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/sidebar.cgi in the main browser window. In that
case, there is no context menu.

The same popup options appear irrespective of what type of page is loaded in the
sidebar. I tried the mapquest sidebar, shows the same options.

Installed extensions include:
Deepest Sender
Magpie
ieview
Image Zoom
Web Developer
SwitchProxy Tool
ColorZilla
Bandwidth Tester
Disable Targets For Downloads
FoxyTunes
Gmail Notifier
TinyRul Creator
FirefoxView
Mozilla Calenar

Disabled all extensions and tried again, same issue. More current screenshot.

Confirmed with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3)
Gecko/20041026 Firefox/1.0RC1 - XUL or HTML, the context menu doesn't show much
awareness of where it is or what its target was or how big it actually is (find
the right place, and it will overflow off the top of the screen, before you get
high enough to have it open downward).
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
This is still present in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US;
rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0.

However, when I "copy link location" from a non-link part of the page, nothing
is placed on the clipboard at all. I suggest that the sidebar menu is entirely
non-functional.

WFM. I don't get a context menu at all when I right-click an empty area of
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/sidebar.cgi when it is loaded as a sidebar.

I'll reopen bug 281490 to cover the HTML case, where there is a context menu.
