Further information, as the steps listed don't seem to cause the crash. At the time, only www.osnews.com was loaded (no other tabs/windows open). Originally, I loaded the URL (from OSNews) named "its clout is diminishing" (near heading "These Days, Microsoft isn't so scary"). I opened the link using middle click to open it in a new tab. The crash was reproducible 2 times so far... I'm not sure how long this link will be available.
Just to make the article easier to find for anyone else testing, http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=8612 is the osnews url for the story, which will bring up the snippet where you can middle click on the "its clout is diminishing" link mentioned by the reporter. I wasn't able to reproduce the error, but I'm on a linux box. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041018 Firefox/1.0

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/0.9.1+ I followed the recipe in comment 2 using Cmd-click to open in new tab, and there was no crash. Of course, the page may have changed in the mean time.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
