The advantage is I can have 1 keyword that searches multiple sites at the same time. e.g., "books <keyword>" Can do a search on eBay, Barnes&Nobels and Amazon at the same time and load them in separate tabs. Consequently, bookmarks will then need to support multiple keywords so that I can still search that one site by itself or along with others. e.g., http://www.amazon.com Keyword: amazon, books "amazon Harry Potter" -> Amazon only "books Harry Potter" -> All engines Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

I should maybe post about how I came up with this suggested feature. A sort of problem scenario, if you will: There was one time I was going to add a bookmark to a new website I just visited and I was going to assign it a keyword (e.g., "europe"). But I wasn't sure if I had already used that keyword before (since I assign keywords to all the frequent sites I visit). So I thought to myself that if I add a duplicate keyword, I would for sure get an error message. So I went ahead and used the keyword "europe" and clicked OK. Then I typed in that keyword in the address bar but then the wrong site came up. And that was when I realized that the keyword was already used. And at that point I came up with the idea that since I assigned the same keyword to two different bookmarks, then those bookmarks must be closely related somehow in content, and so using the same keyword should open both bookmarks.
-> changed summary
Summary: keywords to bookmarks in a many to many relationship → multiple keywords open multiple bookmarks

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. Not really something Joe User would ever use ->WONT (this is something for an extension)

(In reply to comment #6) > Not really something Joe User would ever use > > ->WONT > > (this is something for an extension) If keyword searches aren't useful to Joe User than why are keyword searches included in Firefox by default? This would be useful to Joe User as much as the existing keywords feature is useful to him.

I do not agree with this resolution. > Not really something Joe User would ever use is not a valid argument. Why is http://del.icio.us/ so popular? as people add more entries to their bookmarks, they want the ability to search the collection of their bookmarks in an efficient way. This is a straightforward request, nothing mysterious. Also look in: http://wiki.mozilla.org/Bookmarks_Use_Cases#Multiple_Keywords (i did not add this entry by the way). Seems like more people are interested in this enhancement. I will vote for this enhancement and will try to rally some support for this enhancement.
