Would be great if we could get an extension that worked like WAND does in Opera...

I've recently switched to firefox from Opera and am really enjoying it
especially the ability to use extensions to keep some of the features I've
enjoyed in other brownsers.
The password manager is probably my biggest peeve. There seems to be several
little bugs with it (i.e. it doesn't work on all pages eg.
https://www.orionsweb.net:8443,
https://www1.bmo.com/cgi-bin/netbnx/NBmain?product=1 is another). You can't
add/edit/delete the user / passwords / sites from the manager window.
The nicest I've seen is the WAND password manager used in Opera, if anyone was
able to create an extension like that it would be well received I think. Opera's
wand just has a small button on the tool bar which you can click to auto insert
the user pass, this allows you to have one site like a banking site, and have
many logins for different accounts etc.
I hope this is detailed enough, and the way I was supposed to go about this.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to https://www1.bmo.com/cgi-bin/netbnx/NBmain?product=1
2. enter in a user / pass

Actual Results:
password manager doesn't come up

Expected Results:
worked lol.. The manager should come up and offer the save user / pass. it works
on some SSL pages but not that one or the other mentioned above.

This would be a bug, in that it doesn't work on some sites. and a request for an
enhancement.
<form METHOD=POST name="SignOn" autocomplete="off">

Autocomplete off tells the browser not to offer to save the username/pw.

This is deliberate behavior. For a long time, several banking sites would not
allow Mozilla browsers to use their site if it would store the username/pw,
because they considered it a security risk.

Nope not the issue cause other bank sites are fine, and other mozilla based
browsers like Opera and Netscape have no problems with these exact sites.

Opera is not a Mozilla-based browser.
Netscape, it depends on your version.

You reported that the PW manager is not working at 2 URLs.

https://www.orionsweb.net:8443, it works for me. 20041019 trunk PC/Win2000.

https://www1.bmo.com/cgi-bin/netbnx/NBmain?product=1, it does not work. I have
showed you why it is not working. That it is not working is by deliberate
design in the browser. The bug is not valid.
