Dialog with the link information shows part of the address and there is no
simple way to see the rest.


Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. load the page http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/roadmap.html
2. scroll to a table "Milestone Plan"
3. hover over a plus sign with link in the column Bugs and a row "1.0PR  
Greenlane  	2004-09-14" or below 
4. right click on the link
5. select Properties
Actual Results:  
Dialog with the link information apears.
The Address line shows part of the address.
There is no way to see the the whole address of the link. 

Expected Results:  
A scrollable address area would allow the link URL to be viewed by pieces.

Alternate possibility is to wrap URL into multiple lines.

This issue also appears in Page Info -> Links.

It may be used for phishing attack by hiding the important part of url in hidden
area.
This test case illustrates more problems.
(i.e. View Page Source)

It also shows another problem:
if the address is longer then certain length it is not displayed at all.
(see case "4829 character link" and "4984 character link")
Cannot view Link Properties in the test case above via Firefox 1.0 and 
Internet Explorer 6.0
Test case also demonstrates another issues:

- hovering over the link shows the URL only for some of them
  (same cases as for URL missing in Properties)

- In View Page Info -> Links  the Address column for links invisible in
Properties  are overwriting colmumns to its right.

- In View Page the hrefs are missing.

The issue is more interesting. 
If you select the section of page , copy and paste it to diffrent appication the
URL is included.
Summary: Link Properties does not show whole long URL → long URL is not showing up
sorry for comment #3.
The text editor did not show the hrefs as I copied the text from View Page Source.
It scrolls when dragging it right with URL in property selected with the mouse. 
Moreover, if the property window is resized if it is URL very not long, all URL is 
displayed.

I don't know which component is the right one for this bug.

I have opened the testcase. The entire text is visible in View Page Source. If I
bring up the properties dialog, I can't see the whole URL, but selecting it
allows me to scroll right and see the remainder - which is working as designed.

Is this different from your experience? Are there any factors to this bug that
I've missed?

I agree with behaviour of the properties dialog for addreses that show up.
My experience with some sections of the test case is different. 

Using FF 1.5B1 on OSX 1.3.9 :

Sub cases 4984, 4829, 8194 do not show anything in address section of the
properties.

They also don't show anything in the status bar (the place at the window bottom).

The View Page Source does not show the contents of the href for:
4094, 4984, 4983, 4828, 4829 and 8194.

It is not entirely intuitive, but that is not what this bug is about.

Another factor is the "view Page Info" -> links where
4984,4829 and 8194 character link adresses are overflowing into other columns.



You'd need someone on Mac OS to confirm this, then.

Sorry Ben I do't know who else to ask for help.
I just wanted to see if the Camino hase the same problems as mozilla/firefox.

!) The Camino status bar (bottom of the page) shows the beginnings for each of
the test case links.

2) The Camino has the same problem with "View Page Source".
Does not show href attribute contents for 4094 link and bigger, but the
selection contains the data.

4829 character link does not show as a link

OK, the "view source" stuff has been fixed in bug 237085.

As for the remainder of a long link not appearing in properties.... that's an entirely different issue. I'm not sure how the view source discussion ended up in here. What is the suggested fix? That the properties box wrap the URL and display the lot within the viewable window (with a scrollbar if it's really long)? If so, I'd suggest maybe opening a fresh bug with an intended fix as part of the description.... this bug has become messy.

Otherwise, the tip that Hiro mentioned in comment 5 works, so you CAN see the rest of the URL if you highlight and drag the mouse to the right.

All of the examples in this test case work for me on the page and in source view. Please reopen if you can reproduce. Tested on Aurora 6.0a2 OSX 10.6.
