Periodically, when downloading the remainder of a large mail, the mail is
deleted without a trace.

This is not consistently reproducible.

Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
The same mail which is currently downloaded was deleted or how do you mean that?
Does this affect POP3 or also IMAP? If POP3 this could be a dupe of bug 244601.
Cory could you test it with the POP3 log enabled?

I think that this has something to do with multiple network activities happening
at the same time. For example, message is downloading and I start to open a new
page in firefox.
Please create a POP log and watch if it happens again. Otherwise we can't do
anything.
I have my options set to not download messages larger than 50KB. So, I can see
the large mail. Sometimes when I download the rest of that message it disappears.

While considering 244601 and 265553, I found that the messages are in the inbox
file if I look at it with a text editor.

I had the thought to compress my mail box and restart thunderbird - some of the
mails that I know went missing are now visible again through thunderbird. So,
I'm now a happier man.
I experience the same thing periodically, though not only with large messages;
the size of the message doesn't seem to have any influence on that odd thing to
happen.
What happens is that sometimes (quite often actually, but not predictably) when
I click on the "to download the rest of the message click here"-link the file
simply dissapears from the inbox. it doesn't show in the deleted messages
folder, nor can I re-download it from the server, as for thunderbird it has
already been downloaded. The only thing left to do then is to use my browser-
based web-mail.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
