(In reply to comment #3) > uninstall and delete FF alltogether , reboot and install FF1.0RC1. > Maybe you d/l a corrupt file before I've done this several times before (and just did it again) and the error still occurs. On a side note, it started back when I had version 9.3 and upgrading to 1.0 didn't fix it.

I suspect this is not a FF issue, more like firewall, proxy or OS maybe

(In reply to comment #7) > Do you use a firewall with ad-filtering or a proxy like webwahser whoies does > something like that or a proxy in general ? I run ZoneAlarm Personal, but it ran fine for a long time with it so I don't beleive that that is the problem

Can you please disable Ad-Filtering or whatever additional ZA does for a test ?

(In reply to comment #9) > Can you please disable Ad-Filtering or whatever additional ZA does for a test ? It still does it even when I completely disable ZoneAlarm

I too am having this problem and am getting heavily annoyed with it, I love using firefox over IE but this problem happens on EVERY site I visit, even as I write this comment the other sites i am on keep popping up with the error message, looks very much like something to do with the advertisements as they refresh, I tried running firefox with no firewall, no anti-virus, no protection at all and the problem persists

(In reply to comment #12) I am repeatedly running into this problem, as well. Primarily, I get it when visiting "www.televisionwithoutpity.com" The more I visited the site, the worse it became. The site will simply not load at all, anymore. I seriously doubt that this is a firewall or privacy setting issues - especially since IE and Netscape can visit the site (using the same firewall settings, etc, as when I use Firefox) without a problem. Please advise.

At any rate, I had the problem whenever I visited any HTTP site, not just one particular site.

I also get this bug all the time, it's a random thing, sometimes a site will open no problem and other times it just dies. I've tried reinstalling windows and reinstalling firefox and it doesn't fix anything. I use Panda Antivirus and I've disabled it and it still happens. I cannot figure out why sometimes I can't get any sites to open and other times it's just 1 site that gives trouble or it's fine then I'll get a pop up "Document Contains no Data" I'm using Windows XP SP2 btw

I have started getting this on every page in Firefox since I changed my firewall from Norton to Kerio. I use XP Pro, IE6 is OK. I can fix it if I go back to my transparent proxy on port 80 (no entry in proxy settings - default). I don't tend to use it because it has some corrupt pages for a few sites I go too and so I use another proxy my ISP has has, using port 8080. This triggers the alert every time. Does this shed any light on the problem area? Why don't I use the default proxt you ask. My ISP, NTL UK, do not seem to respond when I point this out to them!

This is not a firewall issue. I just installed mozilla after a fresh formatting and have been experiencing the "document contains no data" error pretty regularly. I have not been able to reproduce it yet as the dialogue box seems to pop up randomly. This is a major issue as it's resulting in the loss of data submitted through forms.

I also have this problem FYI. Are they gonna fix it?

Started getting this error in the last few days and it's happening more and more on all different sites. Fx 1.0.6 Win XPSP2 Some think this is AV or firewall so here's all that info to in case it helps: McAfee AV and Personal Firewall, PC using private IP with Netopia R9100 running NAT.

IMHO this bug should be marked as a duplicate of bug 28586. Could those reporters that originally discovered this bug please attempt to replicate it in newer Firefox builds (e.g. Firefox 1.5 beta 1).

Do you still see this problem as originally described (http but not https)? If not, does it match the description in bug 222814? Other possible dupe, bug 213339.

Joshua reports in comment 14 the problem is gone for him for unknown reasons. Closing the bug due to lack of new information and reporter's comment. If you have a problem where you CAN get to https but not to http, suggest you open a new bug and reference this one. Note: software firewalls are a well known cause of problems. If you have a problem, consider uninstalling it and retesting firefox (or seamonkey) - sometimes disabling firewall is not enough.

Just adding my note of agreement: This has not been a problem for me in any of the 1.5.x builds on any of my machines. Oddly, when this did occur it happened within Windows and FreeBSD (using very different firewalls) and persisted regardless of whether the firewall was disabled or not. RESOLVED - INVALD : This bug no longer occurs.
