Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040928 Firefox/0.9.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040928 Firefox/0.9.3

Unfortunately, this bug is not consistantly reproducable; it just happens every
now and again (probably about once a day under reasonably heavy load). When I
press a 'submit'-style button (recent examples include the Chat Room under
http://www.rondaksportal.com/citizens/index.php3 and 'Go' at
http://www.kwiz.biz/showpoll.php?pollid=3902), the browser simply shuts down
completely, disappearing as if kill -9'ed. However, it happens rarely enough
that it does not often happen twice with the same button.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Do lots of web-quizzes.
2. Keep pressing Javascript-style 'submit' buttons.
3. Eventually, the browser will close suddenly.

Actual Results:
Every day or so, the browser will close suddenly with no warning (taking all its
tabs with it and all other Firefox windows) directly after pressing one of the
buttons.

Expected Results:
Taken me to the page containing the results of pressing the button.

I don't recieve any error messages; is there something I should turn on so that
I do?
Can you please try and reproduce this with a more recent build? You can pick up
a Firefox nightly build over here to test with:

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-0.9/

I'm not getting any crashes on the 2nd link (first is password protected)
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041022
Firefox/1.0 (though I realise you're on Linux, and I'm not).
I am now on:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041003 Firefox/0.10.1

This is the latest copy in Debian's 'experimental' archive, which is the latest
I can sensibly install.

I shall update you on my progress either next time I have a crash, or next week
if I have not.
mh406, since there was no update after comment 2 I'm assuming you no longer
experience this issue? I'll close the bug for now, but please reopen if you're
still seeing the problem.
