User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 In Windows XP, Set Program Access and Defaults allows the user to specify what products to use for e-mail, World Wide Web, etc. If this applet is used to set Thunderbird as the default e-mail client without having run Thunderbird before, a migration window is shown and then a blank, empty window. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Mozilla Thunderbird, but do not run it. 2. Go the Add/Remove Programs control panel and chose "Set Program Access and Defaults." 3. Set Mozilla Thunderbird as the default e-mail client. Actual Results: I am prompted to migrate settings. That is fine; however, after that dialog is dismissed, a blank, empty Mozilla Thunderbird window is shown. Expected Results: The blank, empty Mozilla Thunderbird window should not be shown.
Nominating as a blocker for 1.1

I'm assuming this is Windows XP SP2 or a revised copy of SP1 as the 'Set Program Access and Defaults' is newer than SP1 Gold. I cannot reproduce this problem with trunk build 20050321.
Yes, this is service pack 2.
i haven't been able to reproduce this in 1.1 nightly builds yet. will keep trying.

Ok, just tried the latest nightly build. The behaviour has changed somewhat. Now, a normal Thunderbird window is opened and Windows waits until the window is closed. I'll attach a screenshot. The expected behaviour is probably not to open any windows at all if there is at least one email account and open 'import\create new account' wizard if he doesn't. AFAIK Firefox still opens a blank window in this situation but it is closed automatically rather quickly. I didn't bother trying the latest FF builds, they are rather buggy at the moment.

Probably a dupe of bug 252971.
