That is, the whole menu item should be outlined so that it is clear that hovering over any part of the menu item (not just the arrow) will scroll the menu. Also, the menu item should depress while active, to provide additional visual feedback. Do the arrows do this in Windows? Or other versions of Mozilla or Netscape? I seem to remember seeing this behavior before, and I appreciated it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

I disagree. While I wish firefox would use native widgets i don't think that it should blindly copy them. In most cases the native behaviour is at least as good and usually better than the Gecko behaviour, but in this case it's not: the scrolling menus Firefox implements are a better design than the native ones. Firefox should keep the same behaviour, with a scrollbar next to the menu items, if they can't do the right thing and use native menus.

Huh? In the menus I'm referring to (e.g. a folder in the bookmarks toolbar with lots of bookmarks), there is no scrollbar next to the bookmarks. Instead, a small arrow appears as the top and bottom menu items. Hovering over these items scroll the menu. They do not, however, provide much visual feedback. There's no clear visual indication that the entire menu item (not simply the arrow itself) is active. There's no change in the appearance of the arrow or the menu item as the menu scrolls. I'm suggesting that more visual feedback be provided in those areas.
