I configured three SMTP servers (home, school, work). If I set one as default
for first time then everything works. When I want to change SMPT to other, then
Account manager is changing everything properly in window (I can see changes in
label "Server name"), but if I want to send an email, then email client use old
settings.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Set three SMTP accounts in Account Settings and choose one as default
2.Send an email (everything is OK)
3.Choose different SMTP server and set this server as default (setting in window
will change)
4.Send an email and email is outgoing by old SMTP server
Actual Results:
Email clinet use old default settings
Expected Results:
email client should use actual default settings
reporter, does it make a difference if you fully shutdown in between? just
trying to figure out if the change is registered at all.

Hi. It desn't matter. This old default settings is still active, but in window
"Outgoing Server Settings" in "Account Settings" is set everything properly (I
see new default SMTP server).
Note: If I want to send an email by new default settings then I must remove old
SMTP server (old default settings) and after this new default settings works
properly :-).
Do you have for every account the option set "use default smtp server"? (see
Server settings - Advanced)

What? If I want use one of mine SMTP servers then I jump in to "Advanced"
settings and choose one of mine server and I must set this server as default if
I want to use it (default server will show in window "Outgoing Server (SMTP)
Settings"). How can I have "use default smtp server" for every account? Isn't
this nonsense :-)?

I had a similar problem.
Go to
Edit --> Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings...
and check
tomasbabic@seznam.cz
|
+--> Server Settings --> Advanced
and the same for your other Email accounts.
I agree its a little bit confusing to configure settings for outgoing EMails
here, but you can manage several EMail accounts using different outgoing servers
this way.
Good luck
