Description

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040910 Firefox/0.10.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040910 Firefox/0.10.1

The bothersome combination is styling pre with overflow:auto, having that below
a link that gets a border-bottom: 1px style, and having those in a floating
block, and that floating block is below some on floated content.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to sight
2. Hover over a link in the article body
3. Observe flicker (pre block jumps approx 200px up) as mouse overs and outs the
link

Actual Results:
Pre block jumps approx 200px up (to right on top of the link I'm looking at)
when the mouse begins to enter link text, and again when leaving link text

Expected Results:
No flicker or jumping

reduced test case

the 200px guess was incorrect, the pre tag is always jumping right on top of
the link

um, actually, the height jump is fixed per page... not sure what's determining
how high the pre box jumps
Summary: pre overflow:auto jumps/flickers when border applied to an above link on hover in a floated block → pre overflow:auto jumps/flickers when border applied to an above link on hover in a floated block
Please test with a current trunk build. This was probably fixed by the patch
for bug 238493.
Depends on: 238493

Good for Firefox, bad for me: just another WORKSFORME bug ;)

Thanks again, Boris.
