Find as you type is in the advanced options now, a good thing IMO. However,
when you enable it and the toolbar doesn't find anything, a blaring sound pops
up. This is annoying/useless and should be off by default, since it's not in
the options panel but in about:config (and we assume thios shouldn't be
configurable to msot users, but that they would still want this off)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enable FAYT
2. Type something that doesn't exicst on the page

Actual Results:
Blaring noise

Expected Results:
No sound
Same as bug 217702. Decisions on the default values for the Suite and for
Firefox are made by different groups of people, I think, so not duping.
Depends on: 217702
Per mconnor: sorry, no. It's been decided several times, most recently in bug
260679, that there isn't going to be any UI for it, and without UI having it on
by default works, off doesn't (if it's on and annoys you enough, which it
shouldn't once one of the duelling "make it not sound so awful" bugs lands, then
you can find out how to turn it off, but if it's off you're never going to think
about googling "how can I turn on a sound to tell me when my typeahead search
fails to find something in Firefox?").

I think that's silly, it's horribly annoying and people shouldn't have to search
google to stop big annoyances like this. I'm not asking for more UI, just turn
it off by default. People who actually want a loud noise can get it by google
(it works both ways ;))
Product: Firefox → Toolkit
The WONTFIX decision appears to have been reversed in bug 655703.
