User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040910
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040910

Please see below.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. check "compose"
2. write a message
3. Check "send later" at the "file"-menue
4. "The message could not be moved or copied to the 'Unsent Messages' because
writing to folder failed. ..."
Even though there is that folder, there is enough disc space, and there are no
other mistakes.

Furthermore, please notice: On the account settings "copies and folders" there I
can find the settings for the "sent", "drafts" and "templates"-folder, but there
is no "unsent messages"-folder. It does not make a difference if I create an
"unsent messages"-folder by hand.

I found this bug since Moizilla, I think it was version 1.2. This bug migrated
into the newer versions since then.
Actual Results:
Please see above.

Expected Results:
Give the possibility to save unsent messages at all.

Please see "steps to reproduce".

Thank you very much for the outstanding and excellent software Mozilla!

You are using SMTP ?

Can you try to create a new profile, configure mail on it, and check if you
still have the problem ? (it's very likely than not)

If you don't know how to create a new profile, go in tools, select switch
profile down the list, and click on the manage profile button to get the full
list of option in order to create a new profile.
Dear Sir!

Thank you for your your reply.

Yes, I am using a SMTP.

If I follow your advice, I am able to save the message for to "send later". But,
it is not saved on the new profile, but on something called the "Local Folders".
Previously to your question I did try around a little bit. Sometimes you find
the unsent message twice in the "sent "-folder, sometimes it is saved like I
described above, sometimes I cannot save it at all. Nevertheless, yet it did not
make any sense to me.
But, if you place the "local folders" where the account folders are placed, it
works. Then, on the left window side the folders are named twice.
Unlike you, I do not know the details of Mozilla: Would it be god to have the
"unsent messages"-folder named in the account settings "copies and folders",
like it has been in earlier versions?

Yours,
Harald

Is this still a problem? try to upgrade to Mozilla 1.7.5.

I guess your Local folders haven't the right file permissions or the files were
write-protected. Unsent msg are always (for all accounts) put in the Unsent msg
folder in the local folders account, that is by design.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
