User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; fr-FR; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041025 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; fr-FR; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041025 Firefox/1.0 The problem is that pop-up window goal is to display the text in a window with a specific dimension. When opening pop-up in a new tab it takes the entire screen. That may cause incorrect display and hide the other tab. A good solution would be to open in a new windows but adding a button on the tab bar, not on the task bar of the OS. When the tab-button corresponding to the pop-up is activated, the pop-up is displayed else it's hidded. I made a fake screenshot at http://spaceman.23.free.fr/poptab.png I think a option in the tabbed broswing preferences would be interresting. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: open a pop-up in a new tab Actual Results: the pop-up is displayed as a normal page Expected Results: open the pop-up in a window but with a button on the tab-bar(not on the OS)

This feature is still missing. Opera browser handle pop-ups this way by default. It allows to use single window browsing cleanly.

I don't understand why setting this bug duplicate of a bug related to window splitting. This bug is about pop-up window display in tab-browsing.
