Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 When entering a LAN hostname (defined in my local LMHOSTS file) in the URL bar, Firefox doesn't find that server. But works well with IE Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Edit LMHOSTS file, add IP/Hostname of an local host 2.Configure FireFox to skip proxy for your local range 3.Enter the hostname in the URL bar 4.Generates Proxy error :Page Not Found... 5.Enter the IP in the URL bar 6.Server reached, page showned
(In reply to comment #0) > 2.Configure FireFox to skip proxy for your local range You mean an IP range like 192.168/16? > 3.Enter the hostname in the URL bar Aha! > 4.Generates Proxy error :Page Not Found... Why? Because of Bug 136789. IE does a DNS lookup before. Please resolve it as duplicate of Bug 136789.
