User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041026 Firefox/1.0RC1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041026 Firefox/1.0RC1 The toolbar customization window is a standard window (good!) but Firefox tries to animate it like MacOS X panels by shrinking the window to 0 pixels high (bad!) and the animation doesn't work. As you can see in the attached screenshot, there are needless scrollbars by default and the bottom row of buttons and pop-up choices (icons, text, icons+text) are only partially visible. When I request the customization panel, there's a noticeable delay. I think this is where Firefox is trying to do some animated stuff that doesn't work on all video cards or display managers or something. I have seen the animation on other platforms and I see a bit of the animated closing. It's not good looking, it just looks broken. When I resize the customization panel/window, I can get it to show up how it should have appeared from the beginning. I can also size it to reveal some oddities (like a horizontal scroller well with no scrollbar, and a vertical scroller well next to the add-new-toolbar/restore-default buttons that is so small it can hold no scrollbar. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Right click on the Stop button, bring up "Customize..." 2. See the window render improperly. Clearly, if it were a little larger no scrollbars would be necessary. I can resize the window to prove this. Actual Results: The customize toolbar panel window opens to a wrong size (it's too small). Expected Results: Forget the fancy stuff, just get the basics of this panel working correctly. Dump the animation attempt (it's inconsistently applied anyhow and doesn't fit in with how GTK+ does things or how other panels in Firefox look). Go for sizing the configuration panel to avoid scrollbars (particularly the horizontal scrollbar). I'm using Fedora Core 2 with the default Redhat Bluecurve theme.

Note the scrollbars. If the window were larger, they would not be needed. My screen has plenty of room for a larger window. Firefox should have figured that out and sized this window accordingly.
