This does work the same as Mozilla. Under TB's Options, Advanced, General Settings: [] Show expanded columns in the Folder Pane

Thanks, guys. Really.:)
Than I change this thread to a bug: thunderbird does not take over the right
setting for this option from mozilla mailer. If it is really a bug... Can't
decide it.
