User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 I use a lot of different variations of Logitech mice as well as keyboards and I hardly ever install the software that comes with these devices as they are usually not necessary for the device to function properly. However with this new Logitech diNovo Media Desktop, the mouse, keyboard, and keypad function wirelessly through bluetooth and in order to make use of some other features the software needs to be installed. Prior to installing the software, the mouse buttons worked properly when navigating using the back and forward buttons. However, after installing the software the back and forward buttons do not work in Firefox. I have looked around at the setting of the software and everything is fine because the back and forward buttons function fine in internet explorer as well as all the other windows xp applications. It is only in Mozilla Firefox that this problem occurs, the back and forward buttons simply do not do anything. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install Logitech® diNovo™ Media Desktop as well as its accompanying drivers/software. 2.Press the page forward or page back button on the mouse. 3.Nothing will happen. Actual Results: Nothing happens, as the buttons are not functioning correctly. Expected Results: It should have either gone forward one page, or gone back. There's not much else to explain other than the back and forward buttons not working with Logitechs software somehow. But this only occurs in Firefox. I feel that this is a vital navigation feature that has to be fixed because it makes navigating sites much more efficient.

I think this is more a logitech software problem than a Firefox problem. However, my keyboard (Logitech Internet Navigator Keyboard)'s back button doesn't work with mozilla firefox and my mouse (Logitech MX 510)'s back and forward buttons do. Maybe someone should contact logitech on this, I tried but got no response.

I have exactly the same problem using the Logitech DiNovo Media Desktop mouse (MX900) on Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 SP 1. (Forward and back buttons work fine in all other Win XP apps but not in Firefox.)

Further to the comments above, I got in touch with Logitech help and outlined the problem. They immediately came back with this workaround that seems to work fine. Hope it helps: Thank you for contacting Logitech's Electronic Technical Support. I understand that the back and forward buttons on the mouse does not work in Firefox browser. If you have left the default settings for the 2 thumb side buttons in SetPoint they will work as "Back" and "Forward" buttons in Internet Explorer and Netscape. However, they will have no function in other browsers such as Mozilla browser or Mozilla Firefox browser (previously known as Firebird). In order to assign such functions to these two buttons, you need to select "Generic Button" for both these buttons as given below: 1. Open the Mouse tab in SetPoint and select your mouse. 2. Select the Back or Forward button. 3. Under the option Select task, choose Other and then click on Select Function and then choose Generic Button from the drop down list. 4. Then do the same for the other button. 5. Click on Ok. As I say, it seems to work perfectly and does not appear to affect the functionality on other programs for which the back and forwards buttons already worked.
