With the recent patch for bug 28327 in place, having the preference "Block loading of remote images" now blocks the loading of remote-sourced <iframe> elements as well. (Eventually, it is hoped, this will include stylesheet elements.) The <iframe> content may be almost anything -- an image, an HTML file, or even a generic file. Therefore, the text accompanying the checkbox should be changed, to something like [] Block loading of remote content In addition, the "blocked" warning that appears with messages where blocking occurs should be changed, both for the warning text and the button text.

I agree I just couldn't come up with the right word. Every newbie knows what an image is. Blocking remote content isn't as clear. What's content?. I was erring on being more clear for newbies. Am open to wording suggestions.

How about: Block loading of remote images and other content And could you synchronize the terms used (block and enable), see bug 265318?

I suggest this naming for the button: "Unblock content" (Alternatively keep the current 'Show Images') For the text I suggest: "To protect your privacy, remote content have been blocked."

Maybe coordinate ideas/solutions with the "Suite": bug 287672 PS. I also like: "Block loading of remote images and other [remote] content"

In bug 260020 I've requested a feature which implements several zones for security and privacy. Any one dare to take a look at it? OR even start an implementation?

Right, most people aren't going to understand what "content" could possibly be. When you bring them together as "remote images and content" those same people will understand part of it, the images part. So I'd go with the combo. "Block loading of remote images and content"
