User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/3.3; Linux 2.6.9-gentoo-r1) (KHTML, like Gecko) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041025 Firefox/0.10.1 and Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040919 I'm using xinerama for dual head display, and I recently got two new monitors. After plugging the monitors in, changing my v/h sync rates and changing my resolution from 1280x1024 to 1400x1050, the fonts on both firefox and mozilla look totally retardedly large. I've heard of other people having this problem before, and I thought it was really funny when it happened to them, but not so funny when it happened to me. From what I recall, the person who had this problem fixed it by waiting until a new version of firefox was available and upgrading. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Get two new monitors and use them with xinerama 2. 3. Actual Results: Expected Results: The browser should look normal.

In /etc/X11/xorg.conf or /etc/X11/XF86Config or /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, in 'Section "Monitor"', is there an uncommented line "DisplaySize 367 275"? If not, make one. Substitute your actual single screen width and height in mm for 367 & 275. If this change helps but doesn't precisely produce the result you want, you can adjust to a different net DPI value by increasing or decreasing the claimed size of your display here. Check the resulting DPI value using xdpyinfo or kinfocenter. Is there a file /etc/X11/Xresources containing a line beginning "Xft.dpi"? If no such line in the file, add one at the end: "Xft.dpi: 96" using a number that matches that reported by xdpyinfo.

Brenden, please don't paste large files into a bug like that. If you think that information is relevant to a bug, create an attachment for it. I think the bug here is actually in xinerama, not Moz/FF. The only relevant (AFAIK) line in xdpyinfo output is: resolution: 193x96 dots per inch Visit http://gemal.dk/browserspy/resolution.html to confirm that Gecko is using 193 as the DPI, which is what we need to change. Assuming you actually restarted xorg after setting DisplaySize there, and putting Xft.dpi: 96 in /etc/X11/Xresources didn't help, then the DPI in Mozilla/FF prefs needs to be changed from "system setting" to an overriding value that results in a sane chrome font size. There are usually 3 different ways to choose from to make that change in Mozilla: 1-about:config (in urlbar): browser.display.screen_resolution user set integer 96 2-user.js (in your profile directory - create if it doesn't exist): user_pref("browser.display.screen_resolution", 96"); 3-preferences -> appearance -> fonts -> display resolution -> 96 Each requires Moz restart to take effect.
