User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041026 Firefox/1.0RC1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041026 Firefox/1.0RC1

The page fails to load. Firefox starts consuming all cpu. It has either entered
an infinite loop, or hit upon a code path that doesn't scale.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit http://www.occ.be/site.php?id=comments&nid=475

Actual Results:
Browser consumes all cpu, doesn't respond to input.

Expected Results:
Show the page.
Attached file Testcase
I saved the page to disk, and it can be reproduced by simply opening this html
file.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041028
Firefox/1.0RC1

Confirming
completele locks, but no crash.

works fine in Opera 7.54 and IE
This also happens to me. I'm marking NEW.

Ever confirmed: true
If you wait long enough, it actually renders the page and everything appears to
work fine. I might not have had to wait as long (maybe 15secs) as others
because I have a moox optimized build.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3)
Gecko/20040930 Firefox/0.10.1 (MOOX M3)

WinXP SP1+
JRE2 1.4.2_05
Confirmed. It actually loads when patient enough.

It took my P4/2.6GHz 3 minutes to display the page.

Have been seeing this behaviour on other sites as well btw. Always with sites
that use large tables. Several slashdot posts come to mind ...
I can confirm this: 100% CPU usage, user interface completely frozen when viewing the testcase link.

Also, when visiting http://www.slashdot.org/ I get a slightly different behavior: UI frozen, no CPU
utilization.

I'm using:

Firefox 1.0
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041110 Firefox/1.0
(PowerBook)

Sorry - only when opening any "Read More..." link, e.g. http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/11/13/

I have encountered similar problems. Several times I have tried to reply to
email messages from Comcast.net's webmail application and get into an infinite
loop - the message window loads and closes repeatedly. It's also happened when
opening links from other applications. It's hard to close the window as it
opens and closes so wuickly that you have to keep clicking where the X box is
suppoed to be and hope your timing is just right.

with latest Firefox trunk builds the test URL is slow to load and prevents other
use of the browser while it is loading. But it does eventually load. Seeing the
same behavior on latest Moz trunk builds.
Comcast won't load at all. I tried upgrading from 1.0 to 1.02, and cleared
the cache, and still no good. I tried to post a reply in the chat help
forums, but when I registered it would not send me a confirmation email. Then
I couldn't try to create a new registration because it told me the username
was already taken, even though it hasn't let me create the first one! So
frustrating...I hope mozilla.org will post a fix on its homepage because it's
taken me over an hour trying to find a solution and/or create a user account
so I can post the problem and ask for help. I guess I have to go back to IE.
I am experiencing the same problem:

1. Upgraded from 1.0.2 to 1.0.3
2. Upgrade appeared to work
3. When trying to access any website, Firefox displays empty
website, "Loading" symbol continues to rotate and hour glass shows
4. After closing the program, task manager still shows Firefox as active task,
even though it is not shown on the task bar. Delete from task manager window
does not work. Requires reboot to get rid.
5. Removed Firefox using control panel
6. Loaded 1.0.3 from mozilla.org site and installed.
7. Exactly same result.
8. Had to move back to Internet Explorer

Note: My computer is virus free (today's Norton files) and has no spyware
based on Ad Aware.
