Details
(Keywords: relnote)
Steps to reproduce:
1. Download an installer build of RC1.
2. Download MILTON 1.04 from http://www.miltonsoft.com/.
3. Install Firefox RC1.
4. Run and close Firefox RC1.
5. Install MILTON. (The installer uses -install-global-extension.)
6. Run Firefox RC1. (You should see a working "MILTON Integration" extension.)
7. Install Firefox RC1 into the same directory.
8. Run Firefox RC1.
Result: The MILTON Integration extension no longer works. Even its icon is
missing from the extension manager.
Expected: MILTON Integration should still work.
Disabling and re-enabling the extension does not fix it. Re-installing MILTON
fixes it.
Btw, if you don't want to download MILTON, you can get the MILTON Integration
extension by itself from http://www.squarefree.com/extensions/milton-integration/.

This bug would really suck for MILTON users upgrading from Firefox 1.0 PR to
Firefox 1.0. Nominating to block Firefox 1.0.

er, when did we start supporting "install over itself" anyway? That's been
problematic at best...

afaik "install over itself" is not supported by now - you always need to
uninstall your previous version (your settings are saved in your profile, so
you won't lose them).
anyway, i think it should be supported in the future ...

I was under the impression that "install over self" was supported.

Until this is fixed (maybe by 1.1). Users will need to reinstall upgrading from PR1.
