(Whiteboard: DUPEME)

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041026 Firefox/1.0RC1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041026 Firefox/1.0RC1

When Firefox is uninstalled, the registered file types in Windows remain
registered to Firefox, despite the fact that this application no longer exists.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Uninstall Firefox from Add/Remove Programs.
2. Go to Control Panel > Folder Options > File Types.

Actual Results:
URL:*, HTM, and HTML extensions are still registered to Firefox

Expected Results:
Registered file types should no longer be registered to Firfox. Instead, they
should be restored to defaults if nothing else, although I think an MSI would
normallly restore them to prior values.
This bug seems to be left 'unconfirmed'.
It's definitely there!! on Win98SE system. After uninstall, registry is left
with many refs to Firefox. Can't see any quick method of rstoring IE defaults.
(Firefox was nice but unfortunately there's no FF version of one of my must-
have extensions - so not being able to make IE work properly again is a total
PITA!)

Following my original comment on this bug, I have now discovered that the
Internet 'repair' function restores (at least version 6 of ) IE to 'normal'
operation. (or at least as 'normal' as one has come to expect :=) )
