Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-AT; rv:1.8a5) Gecko/20041101
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-AT; rv:1.8a5) Gecko/20041101

Installation is completed, but before Mozilla is launched it reports an error:
Der Prozedureinsprungpunkt "??1nsCOMPtr_base@@QAE@X2" wurde in der DLL
"xpcom.dll" nicht gefunden. (The procedure entry point
"??1nsCOMPtr_base@@QAE@X2" could not be located in the dll "xpcom.dll".)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. install downloaded mozilla-win32-installer.exe from 31.10.2004 or 01.10.2004
 (downloaded from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/latest/)
2. Confirm installation: click OK or Continue allways
3. at the end of the installation the error message appears
4. after click on OK the installation continues as usual: question "Mozilla is
currently not your standard browser ..." and than the browser is launched

Expected Results:
The error message should not appear.

The entry point is missing in xpcom.dll version "1.8a5: 2004110104", the file is
very small: 8.912 Bytes. It seems many other entry points are missing too.

xpcom.dll Version 1.7.3: 2004091322 from Firefox 1.0 PR is greater (393.311
Bytes), also xpcom.dll 0.0.0.0 from OpenOffice 1.1.3 (674.816 Bytes). These
versions cotain the entry point "1nsCOMPtr_base@@QAE@X2".
