Details
using the 2/01 win32 build on win95.
tried to reset some of the stocks in my portfolio.
-click on the little man
problem 1: the single portfolio I have is not
auto selected (it is on 4.72). need to click
on the portfolio before the form with individual
stocks is loaded with current selections.
problem 2: changed some of the stock
selections, and pressed "save". It took a very long
time for the my.netscape.com page to redraw (about
a minute or more on 56k dailup.) When the page redraw
completed the edits to the stock list were not refected
on the page or in my netcenter prefs.
All this worked fine using latest 4.72 build.
most likely more than one bug here. lets get some
others to try it and confirm the problem and then
turn it in to how ever many bugs are needed.

The bottom frame has over 800 lines of javascript, I'm sure the problem lies in
there, maybe we should get a js guru to attack this

Testing with last night's win32 binary on NT, my portfolio settings take affect,
and the reload of the main page seemed on par with 4.7.
The auto-select of my single portfolio did not occur, I'm looking into the
issue.
chofmann: can you verify that settings are being saved and redraw is normal in
current builds?

Robert, copying dp and steve on this. After talking to dp he thinks this could
be related to some changes he made with 'lazy cookie loading'. Assigning QA to
myself.

Cookies are lazily loaded. So like it would be my bug if you visit
my.netscape.com and dont see your page but instead the generic page.

Dp, I think that's what we're seeing. It remembers your settings because if you
click on the little guy, your portfolio will come up without logging in (that
is, if you are already signed in and hitting the site again).

So then it aint the cookie lazy init releated. This should go back to rginda right ?

So we are getting better, and I know see what
rginda sees. The 'data loss' part is gone.
If I change a stock symbol the change is reflected when
I return to the the page, and it remembered in future
sessions when I use today's build.
The auto selection to not pick the first and only
stock portfolio in my list is a lost of functionallity
from 4.x, but I think we could live with this for beta.
removing the pdt+ so this is considered for removal
from the beta stoppers. If anyone else has comment
put it in the bug before 4:00p.

Tom I am giving this back to you since this bug has morphed enough and maybe you
will have the right handle on who this should go to.

DP ok, when I hit my.netscape.com I always see the generic page between
sessions (exiting mozilla and re-starting). It should be loaded automatically
if I hadn't previously signed out. Isn't that the possible problem with lazy
loading we talked about?
I was thinking the problem with not remembering the first stock portfolio was
related to this but probably wrong.

Yes what you descibe is a potential lazy load problem. Taking back bug.

This should be PDT+. Putting it so for reconsideration.

ugh .. DP narrowed down what I was seeing to a bad install ... so this
isn't as bad as it originally appeared. This is narrowed down to just
the auto loading bug. Opened bug 27152 and invalidating this.
