User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041020
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041020
Prerequisite:
KDE is set to give its theme to non-KDE applications ( Control
Centre->Appearance & Themes -> Colors -> Apply colours to non-KDE applications )
Certain html tags cause mozilla to open mini windows inside web page.
Example: input -tag opens a window for user input. There seem to be some other tags.
That element does not inherit its colours from the surrounding element, as it
should, but uses colours from KDE.
This is a problem, if background colour is explicitely set in CSS, but
foreground is not (or vice versa). This leads to white-on-white or
black-on-black, which is not good.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get Linux box, on x86. Use KDE. Select a colourful KDE theme. (I recommend
white on something for this test). (My setup is not far from Fedora core 2)
2. Make KDE export colours to non-KDE applications.
3. Visit a suitable page.
The page should contain
3a) CSS in use
3b) Either background or foreground (not both) defined for "input" in CSS
3c) Everythind defined for a parent tag.
3d) an input element in HTML
4) Try typing something into the input box.
Bugzilla's bug list in latest page where I have noticed the problem.
Actual Results:
Exotic colors (white-on-white or something alike) in input box
Expected Results:
Non-css-defined colours should be inherited from surrounding HTML tag.
KDE's colours appear in in Mozilla's toolbar only.
One does not need to touch Mozilla's themes to produce this.
KDE theme should be remarkably different from typical black-on-white found on
most web pages.

Sounds like a bug in the KDE code involved to me.... I have no idea how it's
"applying colors to KDE applications", but it's clearly screwing it up.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
