Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 Firefox used to work great under OS X. Since version 0.9 it's been screwy. There are several problems. Here's an example: When I click a link in an e-mail and it launches a new firefox window, that window comes to the foreground. However, if I try to click on a input control on a form, or press cmd-L to get to the location bar, nothing happens. I can't type anything in the input. Switching firefox windows doesn't help. Clicking away to another application and then back to firefox always fixes the problem... temporarily. Other related problems: I'll press cmd-W to close the current window and instead a window behind the current one will close. Or... the blinking cursor for input will be in the location bar and will not let me move it to the page (so I can page down with the arrow keys or space bar) or to a form input textbox. This happens regularly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. see details 2. 3. Actual Results: see details Expected Results: see details

In 1.0RC1 and up you can choose how other applications open external links, see Firefox Menu->Preferences->Advanced->Tabbed Browsing.

I beg your pardon, but how other applications open firefox windows is *not* the problem. The problems are in Firefox. If I open a new firefox window, the input that should be going to my foremost firefox window goes instead to a firefox window in the back. Particularly when I use hotkeys like Cmd-W to close the window. Also, I frequently can't get to the location bar via cmd-L commands. Firefox is unusable for me. I've wiped my profiles directory and tried and same thing continues. I'm back to using Mozilla until someone fixes this. The issue is *not* resolved.

Oh, Sorry! wrong bug :-/
I too am having this exact same problem with Firefox 1.0.1 on Mac OSX 10.3.8 on a G3 600MHz w/ 512MB of RAM. The problem seems to happen if I have more than one tab open, minimize Firefox to the dock, and then reopen the minimized window. If I click a link to open a new window from the page that is currently "stuck" in firefox, functionality returns to normal. I am running Firefox 1.0 on my G4 iBook using Mac OSX 10.3.8 and have never experienced this behavior.
