User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041103 Firefox/1.0RC2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041103 Firefox/1.0RC2 Even after installing macromedia's flash extension, flash objects are not displayed. It worked in 1.0PR and before, but it seems to be broken in RC1/RC2. The place I have noticed this most is http://www.nhl.com Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Firefox 2.Install the flash extension 3.Open http://www.nhl.com. There should be a menubar on the left. Actual Results: Menubar at left not displayed Expected Results: Displayed the flash menubar

WFM with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041103 Firefox/1.0RC2. Menu bar shows up normally, clicking on (for example) Scores brings up a list of scores, and so on.

Works for me too using Firefox 1.0 RC2. Are you sure you installed the Flash extension correctly? Try following the instructions here: http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/windows.html#Flash If it doesn't work, maybe it's an extension issue? Try disabling your extensions and see if it works then.

Firefox: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041026 Firefox/1.0RC1 The description matches my experience. Flash worked perfectly in 1.0PR and before and stopped in RC1. The Flash object will not load run or display. I have not tried RC2. Use <http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/welcome/> to test. There should be a Flash object under the Macromedia Flash Player heading. It says the Installation is complete a logo and three mouse over buttons. I followed the instuctions in http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/important.html#flash I then completly deleted both FireFox and Mozilla from this machine and reinstalled Firefox, Mozilla and then Macromedia Flash Player 7.0 Installer version 7.0.19.0. I am an administrator on this machine. Firefox still fails to load play or run a Flash object. Mozilla 1.6 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113) works fine. Regarding Ali's #2 comment: Disable what extentions?

I can confirm this bug for two separate XP machines. Embedded Flash movies simply don't show up, even though the Flash player is installed and no "Missing Plugins" message appears. Some things I noticed: (1) Embedded Shockwave movies DO work, only embedded Flash movies refuse (2) If I paste the URL of a former embedded Flash movie into the address bar and hit Return, it fills the whole screen and DOES works. (3) The Flash plugin is correctly installed in the /plugins folder and shows up under about:plugins (4) Both the installer and the compressed Firefox distribution feature this bug I'm using Firefox 1.0.1. I run no funky Internet security tool that blacks out Flash movies.

One more thing: Embedded Flash movies *did* work on my computers with earlier versions of Firefox.
