The extension gets downloaded and download-bar is shown, but after download the
extension disappears without any message why.

Did you install the version from that page, marked "for Mozilla"?

it says the extension is incompatible with my firefox version, which is true.
Can you reproduce this on a clean profile?

No, I could not reproduce it anymore. I tried it last time with renaming the
"firefox" directory under "mozilla" in my user profile. But when I rename the
"mozilla" direcotry it gives that very same message. So the bug is invalid, sorry.
