Step 1: Open a new empty tap (not about:blank, just a grey empty tab)
Step 2: Middle click on the spot showed in the attached "Step2"
Step 3: Close the empty tab. You can already see the problem (see "Spet3")
Step 4: Open new tabs and see the scrolling image is stuck there forever (or
until you open a new browser window)

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

The latest beta releases can be obtained from:
Firefox: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/
Thunderbird: http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/releases/1.5beta1.html
Seamonkey: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/
I still find this bug highly annoying, so I'm not gonna let it die just now.
Hi Ido,

I tried to reproduce your problem, but it didn't happen to me with the latest
(1.0.7) version. For me, the scroll icon was not shown above the tab (see the
attached picture).

Do you still find this bug with the latest version?

The page in your screenshot looks like about:blank to me. about:blank is still a
page.

However, now that I checked, this doesn't happen in Firefox 1.5 beta 1 (or at
least not in this form).

So I guess the bug fixed itself hopefully :)
That's good. :-)

By the way, when I took the screenshot, I opened new tab using 'Ctrl+T' and
tried middle click. Isn't this what you menat in the step?
Attached image 'Real' blank page
When you press Ctrl+T it opens about:blank. The way to reproduce the bug is to
open a link in a new tab and middle clicking on the blank (not about:) page
before the page appears.

A real blank page isn't white, it's system-grey. Like this screenshot:
Thanks,
I see what you mean now. :-)

We may close this issue since this was fixed in 1.5b.

Well, what do you know. I managed to do this on 1.5b1 too now.

I don't know why sometimes this happens and sometimes not. So I guesas the
"Reproducible" should be changed to "Sometimes".

Anyway once that middle click scrolling image is there, it CAN NOT be removed
unless you close the browser window.
