User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041103 Firefox/1.0RC2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041103 Firefox/1.0RC2

After updating Firefox 1.0PR to Firefox 1.0RC2 through software update (as
instructed on http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/qa/softwareupdate.html),
the start menu icons of Firefox ("Mozilla Firefox" and "Mozilla Firefox (safe
mode)") were added to the start menu Programs root folder and not to the Mozilla
Firefox start menu folder.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use firefox 1.0PR and go to
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/qa/softwareupdate.html
2. follow the instructions as described there
3.

Actual Results:
After updating, the firefox start menu icons are added to the start menu
Programs root folder

Expected Results:
The icons should be placed in the Mozilla Firefox start menu folder.
I can confirm that happened to me too. Was this intentional? I hope not.

This with 2 separate PR to RC2 updates on separate machines.
Is this still a problem with 1.0 and beyond?

Updating from Firefox 1.0.1 to 1.0.2 did not add the menuitems to the program
root folder. So I don't think this is still a problem.

AFAICT the changed updating system has solved this: Updating from 1.0PR - 1.0RC2
was done by installing several xpi's, while updating from 1.0.1 - 1.0.2 is done
by downloading and running a windows installer file.
