Details
The FAYT activates when the apostrophe key is pressed on some sites but not others. Reproduceable on mozillazine.org but not on yahoo.com. Steps: 1) Go to mozilla.org or mozillazine.org 2) Make sure the page was focus and not the address bar (left click in any white space) 3) Press the apostrophe key by either shift+8 or just plain * This bug might depend on BUG# 258285 Bug has been present before RC2 but I forgot to file a report until I seen a post about this on mozillzine.org the other night. ---- Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041103 Firefox/1.0RC2

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041103 Firefox/1.0RC2 I can't reproduce. On both mozilla.org and mozillazine.org, only / appears to start FAYT. * does nothing.

Does this happen with characters other than asterisk?
Summary: RC2: FAYT activates with the apostrophe '*' key → RC2: FAYT activates with the asterisk '*' key
Yes it does happen with characters other than asterisk such as and numbers. lol donno what i was thinking calling it an apostrophe.

But if I use ' instead of *, then I see what you're saying. The bugreport is ambiguous on what character you're using. On yahoo.com ' doesn't start FAYT, but rather starts typing in the search field.
